Craig Mod art direction & illustrations for Kuhaku
Craig Mod has been playing drums and percussive instruments for over 15 years. In middle school and high school, he played in various all state music competitions. He recalls one in particular, where his adjudicator was cross-eyed. For some reason this made the audition even more stressful. However, he played the nuanced percussion instruments (including a calf-skinned tambourine) with a finesse not yet heard and let out a snare solo so majestic, the cross-eyed man wept a single tear. That year, he went on to play a giant bass drum in the final concert performance. Since then he has played in various jazz, latin, reggae, funk, soul and dance bands across the world in places as mysterious as Chestnut Hill, MA, and Shibuya, Tokyo.
