This list of the top 10 Hollywood political films includes two set in Louisiana: All the Kings Men and Blaze. In the latter, Paul Newman plays a fictional version of Earl Long, known as the "last of the red hot poppas" in his day, who falls in love with the stripper Blaze Starr. The movie contains this classic exchange:

Earl: "Would you still love me as much if I wasn't the fine governor of the great state of Louisiana?"
Blaze: "Would you still love me if I had little tits and worked in a fish house?"

About this blog

After Katrina and its horrible aftermath, Chin Music Press felt compelled to shine its wobbly flashlight on New Orleans. This effort resulted in our second book, Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans? Along the way, we met a community of passionate, eloquent writers who care deeply about what happens to the Big Easy. This blog became a natural extension of the book. It's our way of adding voices to the unfolding story of New Orleans.
