Seems like Ms. Brite has run into a couple of real jerks who are trying to shake her down for more Road Home money after buying her house:

I am so angry about all this that I've barely let myself think about it. Not regretful, you understand, because I know we could have not have done anything other than what we did: we needed this house, we needed to sell the old house to be able to buy it, and waiting on Road Home money is the purest kind of folly if you have any choice in the matter. Just angry, because yet another thing that could have helped us so much has turned into a stupid, useless, painful boondoggle, and the same thing, with variations, is happening to people all over south Louisiana.
