The lit world

Here's a little story by a 10-year-old writer in Seattle named Kimi.

Puffle and the Magic Button

Puffle sat contently in his chair, listening to the chattering voices that streamed through the room.
“So, Puffle, have you been out lately?” asked Paul, his business associate. Puffle sighed, leaning against his chair.

“No. I’ve been busy,” Puffle said quietly. Paul frowned, then smiled widely.

“I have been sorting through your paperwork, Puffle,” said Paul, reaching below his chair picking up a document.

"What? Really? I turned that in many years ago!” Puffle exclaimed quite loudly.

Paul chuckled. “Well my good friend. You are hired!” Puffle stayed frowning, but in a moment or two, his face tweaked a grin as Paul laughed with joy.

“Really? Thank you so much, Paul! Thank you!” he said, patting Paul on the back. The waitress came up to their table, her hair was long, and dyed pale blue, and there were several piercings all over her face. “Hi, guys. I’ll be your waitress, Jenny. What do you guys want?” she asked chewing her gum. She clutched her clipboard. Her face was flushed, and bags formed under her eyes.

“Um, maybe the Steak House Special, please, and with the salad,” Paul said, staring at his menu.

Puffle laughed with excitement. “The Happy Burger please!” he yelled. Everyone was silent, suddenly, a button fell out of the sky, and Puffle swallowed it. Now he could fly.

That is one rad button, Kimi. I'd love to know where Puffle wandered off to next.
