Coffee MondaysI'm posting this Coffee Mondays edition on Tuesday because of the Memorial Day holiday in the US. Hope you enjoy these lyrics to Johann Sebastian Bach's Coffee Cantata, performed in the early 18th century at Zimmerman's Coffee House.
(Recitative) Narrator:
Be quiet, stop chattering,
and pay attention to what's taking place:
here comes Herr Schlendrian
with his daughter Lieschen;
he's growling like a honey bear.
Hear for yourselves, what she has done to him!
