I hear stories from Costa Rica that the coffee bean farmers divide up their crop by quality and send the highest grade beans off to their most demanding international market — Japan. Whether in petite cans or freshly procured from an espresso machine, Japanese coffee is first-class, and most everyone on this island nation is well aware of that fact.

So what kind of poor soul steps up to the neighborhood vending machine and intentionally buys a can of DyDo's "American Coffee"?

Has anyone considered the bittersweet mix of emotions these canned coffee reviews bring to those of us stranded in the U.S., unable to purchase or otherwise sample such buzzworthy cultural artifacts?

I have considered the point you bring up, Aaron, because I've been in your shoes. Hopefully, the sweet outweighs the bitter. And then someday, hopefully soon, you will be able to clutch one of these steel babies and proclaim that, yes, life can be trying, but overall it's pretty darn amazing.
